ADA Transition Plan

The Town of Kennard's ADA Transition Plan addresses access to Town programs, services, meetings, communication, employment, and facilities.

This page summarizes the plan. Read the approved ADA Transition Plan, draft copy pending signatures (PDF, 11 pages). The approved plan is a living document that the Town will update as barriers are identified and removed.

Access to Town programs

The Town is covered by ADA Title I for employment and Title II for public programs, services, and activities. Its plan calls for reasonable changes to policies and programs so people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate. It addresses effective communication, auxiliary aids and services, accessible public meetings, emergency preparedness, staff training, and accessible construction and renovation.

For an auxiliary aid, service, or policy change needed to participate in a specific Town activity, contact the department directly or the ADA Coordinator. The Town's complete Title II self-evaluation is available from the ADA Coordinator in alternative formats on request.

Facilities, sidewalks, and curb ramps

The plan calls for a future sidewalk and curb-ramp inventory and digital mapping to identify locations needing repair. Facility evaluations are planned for 2026–27 with assistance from Kieser Consulting Group LLC. Those reports are intended to identify barriers, recommended corrections, priorities, projected dates, and responsible people. The Town will use the findings to schedule and fund improvements over time. Contact the ADA Coordinator to request facility assessments or another format.
