The Town of Kennard is within the Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corporation (approximately 8 miles from Kennard to Knightstown campus).
Kennard students attend Knightstown Elementary, Knightstown Intermediate, and Knightstown High School.
Kennard High School consolidated with Knightstown High School in 1957. By 1974 the town was served only by Kennard Elementary School (grades K-6). On April 3, 1974, an F4 tornado destroyed the original Kennard Elementary building. The school was rebuilt just north of the destroyed site and proudly continued to serve the community with distinction for nearly four decades. Kennard Elementary consistently achieved academic results above both district and state averages, earning the deep pride of many citizens and alumni who still fondly remember their time as Kennard students. Unfortunately, financial pressures within the Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corporation led to the closure of the beloved local school in 2013 as part of a larger consolidation effort.
School Bus Stop: Closest Knightstown bus stop for Kennard students is at the intersection of Main Street and State Road 234. Shirley has a bus stop for Eastern. Shenandoah has a bus stop North of town 1 mile at the Baptist church parking lot.
